For a very long time, packing materials are often used to contain leaks. They are made using soft, flexible materials that are versatile enough to be used in any application. Traditionally, gland packing is the most popular method of packing used in sealing. It has been proven to be effective, cost efficient and is quite versatile making it the reliable choice for many industrial applications. These thick synthetic materials are physically stuffed to fill the gap between the mechanism to avoid leaks but because of their design, they are not ideal in areas where contaminated gas or other vapor substances are supposed to be contained.
