The length of the service life of mechanical seals

The length of the service life of mechanical seals varies depending on multiple factors.

- Key influencing factors include:
1. Operating conditions: Such as the pressure, temperature, and speed of the equipment where the seal is installed. Higher pressure or temperature usually shortens the service life.
2. Fluid properties: Corrosive, viscous, or particle-containing fluids can accelerate seal wear and reduce its service life.
3. Installation and maintenance: Improper installation (e.g., incorrect alignment) or lack of regular maintenance (e.g., insufficient lubrication) will significantly shorten the service life; proper operation can extend it.

In general, under normal working conditions and with good maintenance, the service life of mechanical seals can range from several thousand to over ten thousand operating hours.
